How I became a consultant
Hello! Welcome to my website and thank you for visiting!
I first went to a toy party in 2005. I had been considering working for myself for an in-home party company, but had never found one to suit my taste. I really enjoyed the party, and thought "Hey, I could totally do that!" But, I had a fantastic full-time job and was about to move 500 miles away for college, so I didn't take the plunge.
Fast forward to fall 2008. I'd since lost the fantastic job, gained and lost 2 more fantastic jobs (both in customer service, one for a HUGE video game company and the other for a HUGE computer company), met and married my amazing husband, and now I was seemingly trapped in a terrible call center job, making far less than I was worth. I recalled the toy party and how I wanted to be a consultant years ago, and did some research and found Passion Parties. I got in touch with a consultant through the website, but we couldn't really afford the starter kit at the time. The terrible job got slightly better, but I kept in touch with the consultant, so she would know I was still interested.
Then, my father-in-law was in a terrible accident. I realized that I had to escape the dead-end call center job I had, but there were simply no other jobs to be had. I also knew I wanted to have the flexibility to be with my family and go back to school.
So, I contacted the consultant I had been speaking to about 6 months before, Emily Myerovich, and told her I was ready to be a consultant! |
